Whitehall Celebrates Opening of New Recreation Center
The Town of Whitehall, in association with the New Castle County Division of Community Resources, is excited to announce the Whitehall Recreation Center! The new recreation center is located within the Whitehall Wellness Center in the Town of Whitehall development. The center provides a full spectrum of wellness activities to enhance the daily lives of Whitehall residents and the New Castle County community. County-run activities are designed to cater to a wide range of age groups including Yoga, Line Dancing, Strong Nation, Zumba, and Full Body Fitness for adults, Movers and Shakers and Sing, Sign and Play for families with young children, and classes such as ABC Parkinson’s for people with specialized needs. For the summer, this location will host a walking and Bike Club, along with eight weeks of summer camp from June 21 – August 12 and 2 weeks of the very popular Safety Town for preschool kids.
According to Town of Whitehall Co-Founder Brian DiSabatino, “We could not be more excited to connect the residents of Southern New Castle County with the robust services offered by the county. We firmly believe that education and wellness are central to great communities, and it is rewarding to see that the County Administration, led by Matt Meyer, think the same.”
Jane Rattenni, Community Services Manager for New Castle County commented, “There are a lot of exciting things happening all around New Castle County. Being able to have a location in the center of Whitehall to provide health & wellness programs to all residents of the county but especially those who live south of the canal, excites us. Whitehall is situated in a high-growth area, so we wanted to find a home where working adults, families, and seniors can access us easily. We can’t wait to get started!”
The Whitehall Recreation Center is located at 735 Mapleton Avenue, Suite 202, Town of Whitehall, Middletown, DE, 19709. The facility officially opened on May 16, 2022.
